What Is the Sample Tester Xtractor Used For?
In pharmaceutical quality control, content uniformity checks that each dosage unit carries the intended amount of active ingredient, assay measures how much is present and impurity testing looks for unwanted related substances. Before any of these analyses, each sample has to be broken up and its active ingredient taken into solution. The analyst places the samples with solvent in extraction vessels of 50, 250 or 500 ml, choosing amber vessels for light-sensitive products, sets the stirring speed and temperature, and runs up to 10 samples together. The LCD display and the D'light indicator show the instrument status, and the homogenised extracts go on for analysis.
