What Is the Vampire Sampler Used For?
In a peristaltic pump, rollers squeeze a flexible tube in turn and push the liquid along inside it, so the liquid never touches the pump mechanism. This makes the sampler suitable for contaminated or particle-laden liquids from drums, tanks, wells, water separators, sewage installations and treatment plants. The operator lowers the tubing to the sampling point, up to 5 m deep, and runs the battery-powered pump, which delivers the sample at up to 2.0 L/min straight into the sample bottle. Afterwards only the tubing needs cleaning, and the unit is recharged with its charger.
