What Is the Instant Moisture & Temperature Tester Used For?
Moisture in sand and aggregate changes the amount of water a concrete or mortar mix actually receives, so batching is adjusted for the water the aggregate carries. The operator pushes the probe into the stockpile, bin or mix to the depth required, up to about 1 m, and the moisture and temperature readings appear at once on the digital display. For sands and aggregates the standard calibration is used; for other materials or mixtures the operator recalibrates the meter on site with its built-in facility. Readings can be taken at several points to see how moisture varies through a stockpile.
