What Is the Pulverizer Used For?

Chemical analysis and many fineness tests need a small, finely ground portion of material, so crushed samples are pulverised before they are analysed. The operator feeds material already reduced to 6 mm or less into the grinder, where the planetary motion of the disc against the hardened grinding wheel breaks it down; roughly 450 g of quartz-type material reaches about 100 mesh after one minute. In cement and chemical laboratories the ground powder is then sampled for analysis.
