Poker Vibrator (code EL-CTLE-10321) is an internal vibrator used to compact concrete specimens in their moulds, offered as an alternative to rodding with a traditional tamping bar where many specimens have to be made. What Is the Poker Vibrator Used For?

Fresh concrete placed in a specimen mould holds entrapped air, and unless it is compacted the hardened specimen contains voids that lower its measured strength. Instead of rodding each layer with a tamping bar, the operator lowers the vibrating tip into the concrete, keeps it there until large air bubbles stop rising to the surface, and withdraws it slowly so that no hole is left behind. This saves effort and time when a large batch of specimens is being made. The standards listed are EN 12390-2, ASTM C31 and C192, and AASHTO T23 and T126.
