What Is the DLC Vibrating Hammer Used For?
Concrete samples are compacted in their moulds so that the test specimen is free of trapped air and represents the concrete as placed. With this hammer the tamping foot, fitted to the shank through the single-step holder, is pressed onto the concrete in the 150 mm or 100 mm cube mould, and the vibration consolidates each layer until it is dense; the variable lock sets the tool at a convenient angle. The hammer is also applied to altering soil formation by vibration, to driving into heavy or hard piles and to judging the relative amount of mixing water that flows from a sample of newly mixed concrete.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of vibrating hammers required.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the DLC Vibrating Hammer mainly used for?
It is used to compact concrete samples in a mould, including concrete cubes of 150 mm and 100 mm, through the vibration of the electrically operated hammer.
What other work can it do?
It is also used for altering the formation of soil by vibration, for driving into heavy or hard piles, and for ascertaining the relative measure of mixing water flowing from newly mixed concrete.
What is supplied with the hammer?
It is supplied with 1 shank and 1 tamping foot, which fit through the single-step holder that allows the tool to be changed in one step.
Can the tool position be adjusted?
Yes. A variable lock mechanism lets the tool be adjusted and locked at a 12-step angle to suit the mould and the position of the operator.
What is the hammer body made of?
The housing is aluminium, and the soft grip handle is shock-absorbing, reducing the vibration passed to the operator's hands during compaction.
What should an export enquiry state?
State the number of hammers, the destination country and port or city, the delivery terms such as FOB or CIF, any packing requirements and any tender reference.
