Coil on Plug Ignition System Trainer
Product Code : EL-TELE-10692
Coil on Plug Ignition System Trainer (code EL-TELE-10692) is a training unit for showing how a direct ignition system with coil-on-plug technology works and for testing a basic ignition circuit that has no distributor. It carries an engine control module, crankshaft and camshaft position sensors, ignition coils and spark plugs, with an electric motor turning the sprockets. A fault box with 4 faults, test points and an OBDII data link connector support diagnosis, and the unit measures 550 × 550 × 330 mm.

What Is the Coil on Plug Ignition System Trainer Used For?
In a coil-on-plug system each spark plug has its own ignition coil, and the engine control module decides when each coil fires from the crankshaft and camshaft position signals, so no distributor is needed. On the trainer an electric motor turns the sprockets, the sensors send their signals to the ECM and the coils fire the spark plugs, letting students watch the whole sequence. The instructor then switches in faults from the fault box, and students trace each one at the test points with the help of the wiring schematics; an OBDII data link connector is also fitted, as on a vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions
What ignition technology does this trainer demonstrate?
It demonstrates a direct ignition system using coil-on-plug ignition technology, and lets students check a simple distributor-less ignition circuit for correct operation.
Which components are mounted on the trainer?
The trainer carries an Engine Control Module (ECM), a crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, a camshaft position (CMP) sensor, ignition coils, spark plugs, a fault box and an OBDII data link connector.
How many faults can be inserted?
The fault box holds 4 operational faults. They are inserted to build students' diagnostic troubleshooting skills, and test points on the unit are provided for diagnosis.
How are the sensors driven during a demonstration?
An electric motor drives the crankshaft and/or camshaft sprockets, so the position sensors produce their signals while students watch the ignition system operate.
Are wiring diagrams supplied?
Yes, wiring schematics are included with the trainer, so students can follow the ignition circuit while they test it at the diagnostic test points.
What are the size and weight of the unit?
The trainer measures 550 × 550 × 330 mm (length × width × height) and weighs approximately 20 kg.
