Single Cylinder Four Stroke Diesel Engine Test Bench
Product Code : EL-TELE-10702
Single Cylinder Four Stroke Diesel Engine Test Bench (code EL-TELE-10702) is a teaching test stand that combines an air-cooled, single-cylinder, direct injection diesel engine with a drive and brake unit for studying how an engine works and how its performance is measured. The engine develops 4.5 kW at 2700 min-1, with an 80 mm bore, 69 mm stroke and 22:1 compression ratio. An electric motor in the unit starts and slows the engine, and the brake is coupled through an elastic claw coupling.

What Is the Single Cylinder Four Stroke Diesel Engine Test Bench Used For?
Characteristic curves show how an engine's torque, power and fuel consumption change with speed, at full load and at part load. Students start the diesel engine with the electric motor, then load it through the brake unit at a series of speeds, recording torque, fuel use, intake pressure and exhaust gas temperature to plot the full load and partial load curves and work out specific fuel consumption, volumetric efficiency and lambda. Engine friction loss is determined as well. The engine is also prepared for cylinder pressure measurement, from which indicator diagrams of the working cycle are drawn.
What to Specify When Ordering
- Quantity — the number of test benches required.
Frequently Asked Questions
What type of diesel engine is fitted?
A single-cylinder, four-stroke, direct injection diesel engine, air-cooled by a flywheel fan. It has an 80 mm bore, a 69 mm stroke and a compression ratio of 22:1.
What power does the engine produce?
Its power output is 4.5 kW at 2700 min-1, and the engine sits on a base plate within the experimental test stand.
How is the engine started and loaded?
An electric motor mounted in the unit starts the diesel engine and also slows it down, while the brake unit is connected through an elastic claw coupling.
Which measurements is the engine prepared for?
The engine is prepared for cylinder pressure measurement for indication, and it has a sensor for exhaust gas temperature and a connection for intake pressure, both wired to the test stand.
Which characteristic values can students determine?
Experiments give the full load and partial load characteristic curves, torque and power curves, specific fuel consumption, lambda and volumetric efficiency, and the engine friction loss.
How is fuel connected to the engine?
Fuel reaches the engine through a hose with a self-sealing quick-release coupling, and the fuel supply is connected to the test stand.
