Quick Answer: The Devel Attrition Tester measures aggregate resistance to attrition, per ASTM D2-33 and IS 2386 (Part IV). It uses two hollow cylinders, closed at one end with fitting covers, mounted on a shaft at an angle of 30 degrees with the axis of rotation of the shaft; the shaft is driven by a motor through a reduction gear at 30-33 RPM and fitted with a revolution counter (a digital preset counter option is available at extra cost). It is supplied complete with an abrasive charge of 12 hardened steel balls of 48mm dia, and is suitable for operation on 440 Volts, Three Phase, 50 Cycles, A.C. supply.
